Places and Stories: Thailand Protests

For months yellow-clad anti-government protesters seized various public buildings in Bangkok including two airports and Government House. They called for a new political system and the resignation of the Thai prime minister. In response, pro-government, red-shirted supporters also held rallies. Clashes between the two have turned violent several times. Before a constitutional court found the red-shirt party guilty of election freud forcing the party to dissolve, many political analysts speculated that the situation could be the beginnings of a civil war.
